Dr Jennifer Matthei
Dr Matthei is a vocationally trained General Practitioner with a special interest in women’s health, obesity, nutrition and mental health.
Dr Matthei obtained her medical degree from the University of New South Wales and graduated with honours in 1994. She completed her internship at St George Hospital, then completed her residency at Nepean Hospital and The Children’s Hospital in Westmead. Dr
Matthei underwent her GP training in Elderslie, followed by Gilgandra and Dubbo, obtaining her FRACGP in 1998.
Dr Matthei has practised as a GP in Elderslie and Lugarno before settling in a practice at Brighton-le-Sands in Sydney for the last 12 years. During this time she undertook mental health CBT/ACT training, completing courses with the Blackdog Institute and Russ Harris.
Dr Matthei provides women’s pastoral training and marriage counselling alongside her husband at Campus Bible Study. Dr Matthei spent 9 years as a school governor at St Catherine’s School (Waverley). She is a loving mother to four children which keeps her busy in her spare time, alongside her love of cooking fresh produce from their vegetable garden.
