What is a Telemedicine Appointment?
A Telemedicine appointment is via phone, Skype, FaceTime, WhatsApp or Zoom.
If you’re unable to make your appointment because of distance, you are unwell, have been diagnosed with Covid19, or ordered to self-quarantine or self-isolate by a public health authority due to risk of spreading Covid19, then please complete the contact form or give us a call on 02 9553 1120 and one of our friendly team members will be happy to schedule your appointment.
During the current Covid19 pandemic for those patients who are unable to make it to our office for a face-to-face appointment, our Doctors Dr Talbot, Dr Yee, Dr Maani, Dr Rigas and Dr Matthei are available for telemedicine consultations. During this time our Dietitian Tania Chaanine is also available for telehealth appointments by calling our team on 02 9553 1120 to schedule your appointment.
When you contact us to make your appointment, please let us know if you seek to use this service. During normal times patients who are geographically distant from our office are eligible to receive Medicare co-payments for the consultation and have a substantial amount of the consultation costs covered, avoiding the hassle of long travel and parking. Patients ineligible for the Medicare subsidy will have to pay full cost for the consultation. During the Covid19 pandemic the Medicare co-payment has been extended to cover telemedicine consultations with all doctors, specialists and some allied health professionals.
For patients with important x-rays or blood results taken prior to the consultation it is critical that we have copies of these results and the x-ray images, prior to the date of the consultation, otherwise repeat consultations will be required.
